The VHDL Analysis and Standardization Group (VASG) is responsible for maintaining and extending the VHDL standard (IEEE 1076). The official website of the group is eda-twiki.org/cgi-bin/view.cgi/P1076. Interested users can subscribe to the reflector (mailing-list) and/or read the archives: grouper.ieee.org/groups/1076/email. Apart from that, in December 2019, VHDL libraries were published at opensource.ieee.org/vasg/Packages.

Although being a member of IEEE is not required, writing to the reflector or accessing ieee.org require users to register. In order to reach a wider audience, the VASG uses an organization in GitLab too: gitlab.com/IEEE-P1076.

Even though not directly related to the VASG, an organization named “Open Source VHDL Group” exists in GitHub: github.com/vhdl (find corresponding chat rooms: gitter.im/vhdl).

The content of this document is being discussed in the following thread of the VASG reflector: grouper.ieee.org/groups/1076/email/msg01286.html. There is also an issue in gitlab.com/IEEE-P1076/VHDL-Issues/-/issues/10. Moreover, there is a proposal in VASG’s TWiki site since 2011 named “Direct Programming Interface” (see eda-twiki.org/cgi-bin/view.cgi/P1076/DpiProposal). Nevertheless, interested users can participate through any of the forums referenced above.
